rarely seen, greatly outweighed
constantly growing

Upper and lower
chisel-shaped incisor teeth
feed entire nights
IV
Large eyes, night vision
revegetated strip mines
feast on ground beetles
V
Carry seeds in cheeks
beady eyes, very small ears
scantily furred tail
VI
Peak populations
living on single acres
land and water meet
VII
Destructive species
runways through dead grass & weeds
girdling, killing trees...
