gleaming proudly
Torn and gouged
stained and splattered
after being bent over backward
on monochromed grounds
suggesting collapse
as less nostalgically
fragmented
like latter-day maps
Scratched and ragged
no-nonsense stares
stoically exalted
when grasped
hand-over-hand
in all-over patterns
of top-ranked talent...
